Andrea Herdegen
Andrea Herdegen has joined the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in 1998. Currently she
is deputy head of the unit “Research data”, with a focus on European and international initiatives.
Andrea is a member of the EOSC steering Board. Previous responsibilities in the Ministry include
“Digital Transformation Policy Issues”, and international exchanges in higher education. Between
2011 and 2015, she worked as education councillor in the Permanent Representation of Germany to
the EU in Brussels. She graduated in economics and English literature after studies in Bonn, Germany,
and Lancaster, United Kingdom.
