Jose-Norberto Mazón
Jose-Norberto Mazón is professor in the Department of Software and Computing systems at the University of Alicante. He is also a member of the WaKe research group and the University Institute for Research in Computer Science. His research work focuses on open data management, data integration and business intelligence in smart destinations and the design of data-intensive web applications. In addition, he has participated in R&D projects on smart destinations and smart cities with special emphasis on open data management; as well as in open science projects such as the Spanish Network on Open Research Data (MAREDATA, https://maredata.dlsi.ua.es/). He has published his research in international journals such as Decision Support Systems, Information Sciences, Data & Knowledge Engineering, ACM Transaction on the Web or Current Issues in Tourism. In addition, he has taught courses and workshops on the concept of reuse of public sector information and the entrepreneurial opportunities that open data ecosystems provide for a tourism destination. He was also part of the team that developed the open data project of the University of Alicante. He is currently director of the venue of University of Alicante in Torrevieja, where he was cofounder of the Laboratory of Intelligent Tourism (TI-LAB, https://lab.turismodetorrevieja.com/) where he leads the line of work in open data management for tourism.
