Associate Professor, Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics & GATE Institute Big Data for Smart Society, Sofia University St Kliment Ohridski, Bulgaria.

Milena in working in the domains of digital transformation, open digital humanities and innovation in big digital cultural collections. After 13 years of academic experience in Scotland, Malta and Qatar she is now reintegrating in her native Bulgaria with a research grant which explores disruptive technologies in innovation labs in GLAM institutions. She played a substantial role in the uptake of open access/open science in Malta and Qatar and in the research on research data management practices in Qatar. In 2022 she was one of the coordinators of the EOSC Association Task Force Upskilling Countries to Engage in EOSC. She was instrumental to bring to Sofia University the Horizon project DISPATCHES (ERA Chair in Data Spaces for Cultural Heritage) which will commence in 2023. Her main interest within this EOSC symposium session is the connection between new ecosystems such as the data spaces and open science infrastructures.
