EOSC Compute Platform: status and way forward
Organiser:
EGI Foundation
About the session
The EOSC Compute Platform is a distributed computing environment integrated with the EOSC Exchange. The Platform is built on a hybrid infrastructure with cloud computing resources, High-throughput computing (HTC) sites and High-Performance Computing (HPC) centres. The Platform and associated funding allow for providing free at-the-point-of-use computing and storage resources, user support and training. The Platform already supports diverse, distributed data processing and analysis use cases. The goal of this session is to inform the EOSC stakeholders about the recent developments of the EOSC Compute Platform, the success stories from the many supported use cases, and the planned way forward. The EOSC stakeholders will have the opportunity to provide feedback and shape its evolution.
Relevance for EOSC
Modern science requires platforms that allow the managing and sharing of large-scale research data. The EOSC Compute Platform is an essential component to facilitate data reuse, especially when the data involved is big and distributed. Therefore, it should continue to be part of the dialogue about advancing the EOSC implementation.
