About the session
The EC H2020 C-SCALE (Copernicus – eoSC AnaLytics Engine) project brings together Earth Observation and distributed computing communities in Europe. Copernicus is a leading provider of Earth Observation data, which is used by service providers, public authorities and other international organisations to improve the quality of life for European citizens. EOSC adds several federations of service providers and research initiatives and solution providers into the shared innovation space. C-SCALE combines relevant data and services from these two initiatives, and provides ‘Copernicus-oriented Big Data Analytics services’. The session will present recent achievements in the field, and will provide a forum to discuss exploitation paths for the combined services.
Relevance for EOSC
The C-SCALE project will enhance the EOSC Portal with pan-European federated data and computing infrastructure services for Copernicus. Its data and compute federation integrates cross-/inter-disciplinary EOSC services, ensuring interoperability between distributed data catalogues, computational tools, and infrastructure. The project will use EOSC as its main exploitation path, and therefore it will increase the service offer of EOSC providing state-of-the-art research enabling services to its end users.
