EOSC Portal – new value for researchers
Organiser:
EOSC Future
About
The session will demonstrate advances in the EOSC user interface that have been implemented based on a careful study of the pain-points and requirements of the end user community, in order to ensure that the EOSC Portal is THE source for Open Science resources. This work has led us to a new approach based on the users’ intentions, facilitated by an AI/ML engine providing different types of recommendations. The user interface also offers customisable dashboards, intelligent search and access to the training catalogue.
The session will contain four presentations: (1) user requirements and value proposition; (2) demonstration of the new features of the user interface; (3) examples of interoperable components: e.g. search service and AI/ML recommendation engine; (4) perspectives on further contributions to the value of EOSC: the Knowledge Hub; integration with provider-oriented EOSC core services.
Relevance to EOSC
The EOSC Portal is an integral part of EOSC Core. It is the main component to deliver the value of EOSC to researchers. The new release is heavily based on the researchers’ requirements, gathered via surveys and focus groups. The EOSC Symposium is one of the most relevant ways to publicise the new features and their added value to the right audience.
